Review published by Vera Schrauwen-Hinderling in the Journal of Applied Physiology, 'Molecular Imaging of Postprandial Metabolism'. The review describes some recent advances, with particular focus on glucose and fatty acid metabolism in postprandial state, and discusses current gaps in knowledge and new perspectives of application of PET and MRI/MRS for the investigation and treatment of human metabolic diseases.

Vera Schrauwen was awarded a competitive Vidi grant by the Netherlands Organisation for Scientific Research (NWO). Her project is titled 'A snapshot of human metabolism: novel non-invasive information by Magnetic Resonance Spectroscopy' and proposes to  develop new Magnetic Resonance Spectroscopy methods to gain novel non-invasive information on metabolic health, and advance translational research.

DMRG member Dr Emmani Nascimento contributed to the recently published second edition of Adipose Tissue Biology, as co-author of the chapter 'Brown Adipose Tissue as a Therapeutic Target'. The volume presents advances in understanding adipose tissue, and new potential for the prevention and control of rising obesity rates.
