Yvo Op den Kamp

I was born on February 7th 1989 in Geleen, the Netherlands. After graduating from high school, I enrolled in the bachelor of Biomedical Sciences at Maastricht University. I graduated from Biomedical Sciences in 2012.

In 2012 I was accepted for the master program Physician-Clinical Investigator at Maastricht University. I graduated in 2016 with a specialty in Internal Medicine. My thesis focused on the presence of contributors to secondary osteoporosis and metabolic bone disease in patients with a recent clinical fracture.

In February 2017 I started in the research group of Professor Schrauwen at the department of Human Biology. I focussed on the relationship between intramyocellular lipid deposition and insulin sensitivity, and the paradox between athletes and the insulin resistant sedentary population.
