Bas Dautzenberg was born on November 4th 1990 in Heerlen, The Netherlands. In 2008 he started the bachelor Life Sciences at Zuyd University of Applied Sciences with a specialization in Biology and Medical Laboratory research. After completing the bachelor program, he started the Master Biomedical Sciences at Maastricht university. His thesis focused on the effects of mild heat acclimation on thermo-physiology and thermal comfort.

After graduating in 2015, Bas joined the group of Prof. Wouter van Marken-Lichtenbelt as a research assistant at the Department of Human Biology. He worked on several projects with a focus on thermoregulation. Since March 2018, he was active as a research assistant in the Diabetes and Metabolism Research Group.
